Nice relaxed round in the snow ❄️ ❄️. Finally again! I was so happy to see so many happy children romping in the snow, building snowmen and sledding.

Nice tour from Roxel out to Haus Vögeding and the idyllically located Haus Rüschhaus. Unfortunately, the park is currently closed there due to the corona. The Haus Spital cemetery of honor is very impressive, where prisoners of war who died from both world wars were buried. Among other things, there is also a grave of a fallen Indian soldier.
It goes back over forest (with some mud) and fields, then over Gievenbeck home.

If my daughter (8) says of her own accord that she wants to hike around the lake with me, mom should definitely support it 😅. We started early so it wouldn't get so crowded. Usual round through the Westuferpark (with crib), past Jupp (with waffle and non-alcoholic Mai Tai) over the wedding avenue and Stadtmühlenbucht back. At the end the sun came through. Once again met some friends. It was nice!

Today off to Raesfeld Castle. I've never been there. That's why I “borrowed” a nice little tour from Chris Walk and set off. In the morning I thought it was definitely still empty. When I arrived I noticed: wishful thinking 🤣. Already full. I started via the Raesfeld zoo. It's beautiful there. Of course, because of the crowds, I didn't spot animals. Hopefully next time. After the zoo, it went through woods and fields along the Issel. It was no longer full for us here and I could actually see one or the other bird of prey. Unfortunately too fast for my photo lens!
From Havelich it went back over the fields. When I arrived at the zoo, I was really shocked by the masses of people that were moving as a result.
That's why I was only at the castle for a short time. There were also one or two stalls with hot drinks and delicious, the owners always tried to remind people of the corona rules. But that was not possible with the gathering. A little unnerved, I gave up my hot non-alcoholic mulled wine.
Conclusion: Great tour, thank you Chris Walk. It was a lot of fun. But in lockdown times I will probably avoid the castle and the zoo at the weekend.

Instead of lying around on the couch, I was pulled out today. It was pretty wet and cold ... but as you know, I'm hard to stop 😎😂
Today we went to Sythen. Shortly past Sythen Castle and the Sythener mill. In Sythen itself I did a little shopping and still met some friends. The one or the other Schnack had to be n 😊. Then it went on through different courtyards. Among other things, past the famous Farmer Ewald (Prickingshof). Last at Hof Wessel, where you can buy potatoes by self-service. It then went back over the Uphusen fields and the processional path. Nice little round, but mainly on asphalt. There is no other way :). And now I'm going to the couch :)

We start the year with our house tour around the lake. Jupp had warm, non-alcoholic Mai Tai ... and in the galley the first fish sandwich 🐟 🥖 of the year. We wish you a happy, and above all healthy, year 2021 with many beautiful moments, wonderful hikes and great bike tours. Stay healthy.

Today was the day ... we wanted to finally do our first 30km hike this year. So just before Christmas 🧑‍🎄 dare? Let's go! I looked for a nice tour out of Komoot, unfortunately I don't know who anymore. So if you feel addressed: Thanks for the great tour ☺️.
We started at a parking lot for hikers and went to Dülmen. From there via Mitwick to Karthaus. It is really quite picturesque there and highly recommended. We continued on the x 12 towards Hamicolt Monastery. Then shortly before Rorup Mitte left along the x 12 and to Welte. There is the rhodendron forest, which you should definitely see when the rhododendrons are in bloom. It's incredibly beautiful at this time of year. It went back on the railway line over the old protective bunker to the hiking car park. And then we did it. Party 🎉, the first 30s is done! Then a beer!

The fissile rainy weather didn't stop us from doing a little tour today. I've wanted to go back to Hülshoff Castle for a while. Let's go. Through the picturesque village center (Minikern 😅), with the chocolate icons from the local travel agency, past St. Pantaleon, we went along the road to the castle. Memo to me: In Corona times you should google beforehand whether a castle is open 😩 It happened as it had to ... The castle and the beautiful park are open on weekends and only during the week. So it was a short visit to the castle 😜. Then it went into the woods on partly (as expected) very muddy paths. But the very aromatic forest air made up for it. Another round for #movementhelps. Happy Nicholas!

After a good meal out to the Ewald heap. Very, very beautiful in the twilight of the evening red!
