I had saved this tour a long time ago from a Komootler and thought to myself that it would fit quite well for training purposes for the next mammoth march 😊 It consists of parts of the 5th and 6th stage of the Hohe Mark Steig, from Flaesheim to Ahsen. Then you go back on the Wesel-Datteln-Canal. we started at the Dachsberg and the weather didn't do what it was supposed to do there... impenetrable fog. And unfortunately it stayed that way all day, as you can see 🌫😎. Unfortunately, the actually beautiful views were not given. How good that we already knew most of them anyway 😊🙈. The way back along the canal is very long... especially in the fog when you can't see anything and it's getting dark 🤣 You see... we had it all today in the "fog of horror". I will run the tour again without fog, then it will definitely be all the more beautiful.
At the same time, today was the starting signal for the annual campaign, in which I have been taking part for several years and you can collect donations for the German children's hospice association and for with the kilometers you have run.
By the way, you can still register and participate. So let's go :) #movementhelps

You dear Komootler, I wish you a happy new year 2022 and may all your wishes come true.
On 1.1. we have been running our house tour around the lake for some years. Nothing spectacular, but always beautiful!
I look forward to following your great hikes in 2022 and to be able to take these inspirations with me. Stay healthy!

At the end of the year I was finally drawn to a longer tour in the pot. The Zollvereinsteig has been haunted by the network and Komoot for a long time, but is not supposed to be officially opened until next year. Will the route stay that way? we will see;). In any case, it is not yet signposted. I had read various things, Uli Frank thought the route was very good, while others were very disappointed. And yes, there is a route that equals 3! Cemeteries includes ... but: so what ?;)
So I wanted to get an idea for myself.
Of course, I started at the Zollverein World Heritage Site. In the torrential rain. And it got more and more ... so cape out. Soon I couldn't see anything through the glasses and constant cleaning is also annoying.
So I took a break in the Kaiser Wilhelm Park at the Chester Bennington Memorial and lo and behold, the rain finally stopped.
Then a short stop at the Carl colliery and on to the Schurenbach dump. Up there it looks like the moon (but in black). There is also a large steel slab as a landmark. I was lucky and just then the sun peeked out from between the clouds, which brought me beautiful photos. Past the Eickwinkel heap, I came to the Schafhof Glück auf !.
Then I changed the tour a bit, because I wanted to go through the Hegemannshof colony, which I think is a gem of industrial culture. An absolutely pretty workers' estate that you should take a look at.
I then walked past the Fatih mosque and the pigeon clinic, onto the Zollverein dump.
By the way, on Hello there is a very interesting cemetery, namely the Islamic burial ground. I found that very impressive and also worth seeing.
From hello we went back to the world heritage. I liked the tour a lot. You can see a lot of industrial culture and also look into the heart of the Ruhr area. Chic, well-made houses, pretty allotment gardens ... the pride of the owners could literally be grasped. And that makes it so sympathetic again;)
Of course it's more asphalt-heavy. It's still green. And the famous Baldeney dough, on the other hand, is still my favorite. But if you like industrial culture and want to deal with the Ruhr area in a different way, you will really get your money's worth here. I can recommend it.
This was my last big tour in 2021. All in all, this year there have been 1,181 hikes for me, more than ever. I am already looking forward to new tours in 2022 and then to be able to share them with you again. A Happy New Year to all of you and a great, healthy year 2022!

So shortly before Christmas the little Advent round went to the crib in the Westuferpark, which I had not yet visited due to lack of time. Then it was up to Jupp for a Glühamerie and half a piece of chocolate marzipan cake 🍰 delicious 😋! Sitting in the dry barrel was nice and warm!
We gave ourselves the complete SeeRunde because of the bad weather (only rain! 🙄 ☔️) and we went back the same way. I hope I can still make a nice, long final round this year 🥾. I wish you a happy 4th Advent 🕯 🕯 🕯 🕯!

After an eventful weekend, at least a short excursion, this time across the fields and the processional path and sometimes not to the lake. At the moment the weekends are just too ... hope to be able to do my tours again soon. Have already hatched some new ones 😎 Have a nice rest of Sunday!

Today visit from my long-time friend Bine and made a little bit of Münster unsafe on girls' day. At the weekly market there was the obligatory salmon roll 🍣😊 The cathedral honored, as well as the Lamberti Church with the Anabaptist cages explained. Marveled at the town hall on the Prinzipalmarkt and visited the Friedenssaal for the first time. Last but not least, let the day end with a light Altbierbowle with oranges in the “Alten Gasthaus Leve”. It was a bit cold and windy! But we liked it, Bine will be back and I'll be back anyway 😎

Here is a little insight for you, how it was yesterday on the winter dreams at Hülshoff Castle. The illuminations were very successful and it was really very nice. What surprised us was actually the sparse gastronomy, which is why we ended up at the Italian restaurant afterwards (and I forgot to finish Komoot at the castle 😎😜). And there was also a new hat for me, a hat lover, so winter hikes are saved 😎

Billerbeck, my Billerbeck! How good that a week ago Sarah hadn't had time to join the trial march for the Baumberg march😘. So today I was able to show her the route that we had taken - with still beautiful autumn weather, appropriate autumn colors, and in a good mood also appropriate photogenicity🤗To avert boredom, the tour was simply turned around, which also gave me a few new insights. And so we were able to dedicate ourselves to a few motifs that were left behind a week ago: the Kolvenburg, for example, a late medieval castle in the style of a water castle (but with a dry moat), today a cultural center with a lot of program. Or the Hameren house, which unfortunately cannot be viewed from the inside as it is privately owned by Baron von Twickel. Also some works of art along the way went unnoticed last week, as well as the old bathing establishment, which was used until the 1960s. was still used by the Billerbeckers, but is now more of a swimming school for ducklings ..."And horses everywhere along the way". Big, small, young, old - I was particularly fond of a brown guy, and he (or her, I didn't look) felt the same way: we cuddled for minutes and could hardly part. There's a photo of it on Sarah's tour, of course I didn't take one🙄Since we had been on the road for quite a long time, we wanted to have something to eat in Billerbeck, so we made a detour to the city to come to the cathedral, which is really an incredibly beautiful place of silence, which you can find in such a small Münsterland town almost not suspected at all. In Dom Café Frede we got a hearty Münsterland Vesper before we headed back along the Berkel, freshly strengthened and covered with bread and sweets. So a couple of km have been added
Thank you, Sarah, for the always beautiful hiking day 👍😻

Today I had a day off and I was really happy to do another tour with Chris. The Flamingo Queens on tour again! This time it was a rehearsal for the Baumberge March through the Baumberge in June. Chris did this tour with a whole group last week. And so that it doesn't get boring for you, we simply “reversed” the tour and went “the other way around” 😎
It was wonderful! Talk a lot, walk through the mud, enjoy the forest, find the views beautiful, succumb to Haus Hameren and the cute and charming Billerbeck ❤️. The cathedral is soooo great!
In the end we ended up in the Dom Café with its wonderfully nice service ladies. Muensterland-style cheese rolls with black bread and pickles, simply delicious! The cakes looked great too :)! An all-round successful day! Thanks Chris ❤️🦩
