We started today at the Disibodenberg parking lot and then first to Staudenheim and further along the Nahe and on a section of the barefoot path and then back up into the forest on Blocherberg, past the Kurt Eimer temple and the thick oak to the open-air museum Bad Sobernheim. A really great open air museum!
I sometimes felt like I was in my youth, because I grew up on a small farm with a village inn and corner shop.
We continued in the direction of the Jungwald and then back to Staudernheim, up and then down the Disibad stairs into the Glantal. Along the Glan to Odernheim and then back and up to the Disibodenberg monastery ruins.
Conclusion: An absolute TOP tour that my darling put together himself. But actually you would need a lot more time for the open-air museum and the impressive ruins of the monastery.

Today there were five of us on the road, so the rest took longer. From the hiking valley we walked clockwise to the right through Ebernburg and then up the stairs to the castle with an impressive panoramic view in all directions. We leave the castle over the Ebernburg bridge and hike along a ridge through vineyards and then through the forest before we reach the beautiful Altenbaumburg view. After a bit over the plateau we come to the Trommbachtal, where the vital tour shares part of the route with the vital tour Mysterious Lemberg, which I still have fond memories of as one of the most beautiful vital tours. Then there is a steep path up to the Schinderhannesloch that you can explore on all fours. I crawled in too. However, neither the booty nor Schinderhannes was at home. After a long rest above the hole, we marched on to the beautiful reservoir Blick before we walked past the Kafelblick to the Birkenhof and from there down through the vineyards to the stone sculpture park. And then back to the starting point.

After we were already in the region today, we added a second VitalTour to it. The VitalTour Kuckucksweg starts at the parking lot of the sports field in Hergenfeld. The town of Hergenfeld is circled in a large arc and various vineyard locations and beautiful vantage points are reached.
Then the route meets the VitalTour stone, wine and color komoot.de/tour/308127635, which we did in January.
Later it goes to the Limbach and a little bit along the stream before it goes up again. Past the Pfalzblick picnic area, we then take beautiful trails parallel to the main path to the little holy house "Kindchen" before we reach the parking lot again.
Conclusion: a very nice, but rather average route compared to other VitalTours.

A double pack of VitalTours was planned for today. First we went on the VitalTour Schloßweg. We started at the Bockenau campsite car park and initially hiked on a quiet railway line along the valley floor. On the outskirts of Winternburg there was an approximately 200 m long ascent until there was a beautiful view of the Donnersberg. Unfortunately, the drizzle got us soaked by the time we came across the first refuge on Eckweiler Berg. There we met someone who had cleaned the table in the refuge and after a short conversation it turned out that the refuge was named after the refuge 25 years ago, who prevailed over the then mayor to build the refuge in this beautiful place. A. Fey is now 83 years old and said he will take care of the hut as long as he can and he doesn't know what will happen afterwards. On behalf of all hikers, we thanked them for this voluntary service, which makes our tours so much nicer.
After this beautiful view of the Winterberg Castle, we went along the idyllic Tonbach Valley down to Winterburg. There a little detour to the church, before it went up again steeply to the Winterburg Castle, which today houses a school camp. Then it went back down to Winterburg and straight up again to the next lookout point "Schlicht" and from there on to the ridge before it then went steadily downhill back to the Bockenau car park.
In the meantime, of course, we had hiked dry again and we were on our way to the next VitalTour. Description follows.

Today's hike in the Odenwald began at the town hall in Hammelbach and is well signposted with H10.
Past the Protestant church we went to the remains of the Gothic chapel. Immediately after leaving the village, we came across a barbecue hut on an idyllic lake below the Weschnitz spring. There is also a small Kneipp facility there. We continued about 3 km over open terrain before we reached the shady forest. Along the sound hiking trail with its interesting installations, it then passed below the Eselstein with its impressive granite formations, before going down to the farmstead, restaurant and beer garden Alt Lichtern. Then up again to the jump at 463 m height and further a piece over open field to the Wagenberg at 536 m height. In the further course we passed the beautiful old Brandschneider cross before we went down over the back meadow valley along the Hinterwiesengraben to the hamlet of Litzelbach. From here it was a worthwhile detour to the cold fountain and back to Hammelbach.
Conclusion: a nice leisurely tour that is highly recommended.
P.S. Unfortunately I had problems with kommot again. The app crashed 15 times on the way and several beautiful pictures were not saved. 😪

Veronika asked me on the top platform of the master tower with its wonderful view if I wanted to get her an Aperol Spritz from the beer garden below. Because of the 174 steps down and up again, I refused. 🙄🙄
But as we all know, women do prevail in the end.
When we were down by the car in Hofheim, we noticed that a couple of hiking sticks were missing. I couldn't refuse again and had to go back.
Not up to the master tower anymore, but the 128 steps up and down to the mountain chapel twice were not without either!
What does a man not do for a great woman? 🥰

      Today again in the Taunus:
We started in Hofheim below the wildlife park and through beautiful forest paths past the magic forest Kelheim to the small Mannstein with its wonderful view and then up to the big Manstein over the Staufen and then down to Losbach and then back up to the master tower, on to the mountain chapel and over the beautiful pilgrim stairs back to the starting point. A large part of the tour went over the Taunus Schinmderhannes Steig.
Conclusion: a not very spectacular, but very nice tour through the Taunus. Especially suitable on hot summer days, as it is mainly through shady forests.
P.S. After that I had to run a little "penalty loop". More details follow 🤐

Today we went back to the near and far.
The charm of the VITALTour Felsengarten has probably suffered a little today from the gloomy and slightly rainy weather. Today we only met two hikers, but hundreds of nudibranchs. 🐌
We started in Simmerntal right next to the evangelical church and first of all along the apple creek up the beautiful, wild and romantic valley up to the Braunenberg, where there are wonderful distant views of the Nahe region. For example, a first look at Dhaun Castle, which we will get much closer to later. It goes up to the Habichtskopf at 425 m height, the highest point of the tour. Before we slowly move back down into the Apfelbachtal valley with a beautiful panoramic view. Immediately after our rest, the rain increased a bit, so that we had to put on rain gear and quickly set off on the rest of the way. Another small climb before we got through Horbach. We continue to the so-called rock garden, a hiking section with great vantage points. Starting with the "Falkenstein" refuge and followed by the "Uhuwarte" with a wonderful view of the Kellenbachtal and the Dhaun Castle opposite. The last vantage point is called "Rabenkanzel" before returning to Simmertal.
Conclusion: a wonderful, mostly well-described VITAL tour with very beautiful views.

This tour has a nice history for me. Actually, we were on the way to northern Germany that weekend to attend a wedding and everything had already been planned to the extent that there was hardly any time for hiking. But when we found out on the almost six-hour journey that the finished hiking trail had been voted the most beautiful hiking trail in Germany this year, it was clear that we absolutely had to go.
The Dö´rt Moor is one of 24 north paths (nordpfade.info/start.html).
Of course, this round without altitude, without mountains and without valleys was something completely different for us.
But above all the first part of the day past the Bullensee and through the moorland was also quite attractive and impressive. In my opinion, you can only give yourself the extension of the shorter lap (6.3 km). Because there it is mainly through less exciting cultural landscapes. Cornfields on the left, cornfields on the right on an asphalt path, I don't think that's great.
Conclusion: You can do this most beautiful circular hiking trail in Germany in 2021, but you don't have to. But of course I am pleased that hiking trails have also been awarded in Northern Germany and that hiking there is well signposted.

The rain prevented a larger lap.
