My girlfriend and I had worked out this route. We set off on the tour with 20 country women. The path led through Ostendorf, Ahlintel, past Emsdetten to Isendorf. The Mariengrotte there is very worth seeing and just right for a break.
We chose the way back through the Emsdettener and Borghorster Venn

Zum Uhrmacher nach Burgsteinfurt
Auf dem Hinweg wars noch angenehm. Den Rückweg hatte ich durchs Bagno nach Borghorst geplant aber unterwegs verworfen, weil ab Borghorst alles nur sonnige Wege gewesen wären. Also ab durchs Borghorster Venn mit deutlich weniger sonnigen Abschnitten 😊

It was really fun. The river is totally embedded between trees, which protects from the nasty wind. In some places, the willows hang far over the river and you can paddle underneath with the canoe. Really beautiful.

Sümpelmanns Teich is a small body of water. The newly created circular path has turned out nicely. However, there are people who swim there and also make campfires directly. Both are forbidden there. A small detour on a tour is probably worth it.
