Wow🤩. At the start, I first took a photo of the Störmond before the rising sun took over.
In Zumaia after "only" 5 km, we had breakfast before the real climbs began.
At approx. 8.5 km, I turned onto the GR 121.
Always in a wave-like manner over great, but strenuous paths through the forest or directly

After spending the rain with showers and a siesta, I wanted to go to the lighthouse again. Unfortunately, you can't get really close, but I was rewarded with great views for the climb.
Getaria itself feels like it only consists of 2 streets and is otherwise a typical fishing village for this area.

San Sebastian says goodbye once again with rain, but this time only lightly and for a good hour.
If I had frozen at 21°C, I would definitely have warmed up after the first ascent🥵.
After approx. 12.5 km, a place to stop for refreshments appeared completely unexpectedly, beautiful, welcoming, rustic and

My walk was significantly shorter than planned, but after the stage, I simply lacked the nerve for the climb to the statue and it was too warm for me.
So I strolled through the beautiful old town and tried out the Pinxos 😋.
Now I'm full and tired 😴. Maybe I'll make it to the beach for sunset.

Wow🤩🥵🤩
I started quite leisurely via 3 escalators to above Hondarribia. There I still caught the dawn over France 🤩.
After that came the first ascent, a leisurely path, but I could have used the first shower at the church.
Last time, 4 1/2 years ago, I also arrived here soaking wet, but from the rain

Since I could book a flight at short notice thanks to Eurostar, I am starting this Camino with a rest day.
Hondarribia I didn't know yet and must say: a really beautiful and quaint little town. The architecture and alleys so typical for the Basque Country.
Irun, on the other hand, got a second chance from

Actually, today was just supposed to be a light "cool-down" for me.
I'm not allowed to use my poles again until next week due to my shoulder, and my bones are happy to have a rest before I head back to Spain next week, hopefully 🙏.
The last loop "had" to be done anyway in this glorious weather.

The name says it all.
Since a friend didn't know the trail yet and wanted to hike it with me, we finally managed to start together today.
For me, it was the 4th time on the Baldeneysteig and as always, it was beautiful.
It's just so varied. The combination of forest and lake is what makes it appealing to

What heat 🥵 at 7:00 in the morning it was still okay, but for the last hour my thermometer on my backpack showed 37°C 🥵.
The Reister Kapellenweg is an excellently marked circular route, which, this is even marked, can also be divided into a north and south route, or you can do, as I did, the whole round

Officially, only 50% of the Lüneburg Heath is in bloom, but today was my only opportunity this year to do a wonderful tour there without much effort.
I have to say, it was already fantastic even so, and after the short climb up the Wilseder Berg, I also had a magnificent panoramic view.
What huge areas

My mother wanted to go on a trip to the heath and since we both have fond memories of the Fischbeker Heide, we went there.
What we both completely forgot or simply didn't notice before were the various bumps in the ground.
But she managed it 👍💪.
It was frightening that even the heath has now dried out over large areas😔

After 2 days of looking after the oldies😍, I needed 2 hours for myself this evening.
What could be better than using the Hamburg summer for a lap around the Binnenalster and Außenalster.
First, a rosemary-lime ice cream 😋 and then an Aperol Spritz in the sun by the water to enjoy and recharge the batteries

I actually know this tour as a "snow tour", but today in summer.
It started with a fresh 8°C and mystical morning fog over the reservoir. After the first ascent to the NSG Ebbemoore, I was already warmer and could also enjoy the beautiful distant views.
On the Ebbebank, after the 2nd ascent, it was time

I do go by the Dhünn now and then, but I haven't been to the associated reservoir for ages. So today, I did the big loop around it.
A beautiful and cozy loop, apart from the bumps in the ground, which led predominantly through the green forest.
As a snack in between, there were plenty of blackberries

Today, an stage without the sea, but instead it went through the Basque mountains with great views and sweat-inducing ascents and descents. The first refreshment stop was then in Markina, so I also used the last supermarket before Bilbao.
The last 140m of altitude through the midday heat to the monastery
