The name of this tour says it all: I simply love it, even though I missed the reflections at the Hexenteich pond today 🤭. That's just how it is in winter.



But everything else was perfect: plenty of sunshine and snow, a few "nice" bumps in the road, and lots of nature 🫠☺️.

The weather forecast was good, so I quickly rearranged all my appointments or started early and launched into another attempt with a shortened and modified route.



The late start worked out well: the parking lot was usable 🥳 and the snow had 24 hours to settle.

After the disappointing weather, I headed out on this familiar route to work off some frustration and get my bearings.



The contrast couldn't have been greater: lightly powdered slush instead of snow 😅.

After yesterday's lovely snowshoe hike, I wanted to go again today.



The plan was Homert - Jubach - Stilleking.



But:



First, parking was difficult; everything was covered in snow from the streets 🙆‍♀️, and then the trails were only visible thanks to the clearings in the trees.

Okay, I've probably never been as slow as I was today, but it was pure enjoyment, despite the wind and snow, and, as every winter, I was amazed at how tiring trudging through the snow is.

Since I didn't feel like driving anywhere far, I went on this route again, just in the opposite direction. And presto, it was almost like new! 😅 I was shocked to see that the large meadow between the monument and the ruins had been completely churned up by wild boars.

The Urdenbacher Kämpe nature reserve always has a certain mystical charm, Monheim is a really cute little town, and the path along the Rhine is also beautiful, though quite slippery in places due to the mud. BUT the section between the nature reserve and Monheim was

For me, a visit to the nativity scene in Beyenburg Monastery Church is simply a must at the turn of the year.



So today, despite the light frost, I set off along familiar paths through a breathtaking landscape. Even the sun kept me company at the beginning and end.

With this glorious weather, I "had to" interrupt my journey home for a stroll through the heath.



For me, the Lüneburg Heath has its charm even in winter.



The landscape is so varied, from dense forests to wide heathlands and hills like the Wilseder Berg, with its viewpoints.

I had promised my mother a walk along the Elbe River, and even though the predicted sunshine didn't materialize, we set off anyway. The Elbe riverbank is beautiful in any weather 🤭.



So I was able to make someone else happy 😍.
