Today, on the day of the "special" solar eclipse, my better half and I considered going on a bike tour, as our kids had other plans...

Said and done, and honestly - the solar eclipse only interested us rudimentarily, so we only noticed it very slightly. The goal was to ride along the Niers, over the suspension

After the Dingle Way comes the Kerry Way…!?!!???? 🤔

Not really…. 😅 But I had a great need to show Killarney to my family on the remaining day after completing our common Dingle Way (see Collection).

There, I showed my loved ones where I started the Kerry Way solo in 2024 (see Collection). For this, it

An adventure is coming to an end….

Today is our final day on the Dingle Way…. 🥹

I don't have to write much about today's route, as it's identical to our first day (see also the collection for the Dingle Way). Just in the other direction and with slightly different feelings.

Because on this beautiful and

Wet to the bones…. 🫣

Today was supposed to be the most modest tour on the Dingle Way to date. But this was due to the weather, not the stage itself….

When leaving our B&B in Cloghane, it was still dry. However, the weather forecast promised nothing good. The first almost five kilometers were also rather

Mouth wide open, eyes wide...

This probably describes the state of our tour today on the Dingle Way. On day 7, a somewhat tougher tour was scheduled. Because on the way to Cloghane we opted for the northern variant.

Here the ascent runs over the shoulder of Masatiompan, a northern spur of Mount Brandon

Stage 6 of the Dingle Way is scheduled for today and leads us from Ballyferriter back onto yesterday's path, before we continue our hike to Cuas.

Unfortunately, the beautiful coastal and beach sections are shrouded in fog, so the views are rather minimal... But at least it's "foggy, sunny weather" and

We started on stage 5 from our accommodation, the Dunquin House, from where we could see the Blaskets from our room. From there, we head back towards

Today we are heading out on stage 4 of the Dingle Way. This time also the first time with rain and fog, which in my opinion is also part of hiking in Ireland. It's just a shame that this stage was affected.

Because this hike is one of the highlights of the Dingle Way – an unforgettable stage that transports

Via quiet roads and agricultural paths, we first head back to the coast and past the ruins of the 16th-century Minard Castle. Afterwards, we pass the village of Lispole with the remains of the Lispole railway viaduct. From there, via the lower slopes

Our second day on the Dingle Way takes us from our accommodation in Camp today, with wonderful weather, to Annascaul.

We largely follow the Emlagh River, which due to little rain in recent weeks can only be guessed at in some places.

We thus traverse the heart of the Dingle Peninsula to the south coast

Today our big family adventure begins: The Dingle Way…

With our girls, we will hike the 180km in moderate 10 stages. Our first tour leads us from Tralee to Camp.

Leaving Tralee (meaning: beach of the river Lee or grey beach), we first walk along the Tralee Ship Canal, which leads us to the famous Blennerville

Finally it’s here… our summer vacation 2026…

After arriving yesterday and already visiting the National Museum of Archeology and a few pubs, today we went on a city tour in Dublin. Here I used the same template as in 2024 when I hiked the Kerry Way in advance. All the more beautiful to do it this time

Actually, the gift for Bernd's 50th was already planned for May 23rd, but then another 50th got in the way, so we made up for our event today...

It was supposed to be no less sweaty with almost 38 degrees, so we shifted our tour with the railbike from Kleve to Kranenburg

What lovely weather....

....it was simply too hot for a whole long tour for us today. But not doing anything at all was also not an option today. So we drove to the nearby Krefelder Stadtwald and took a shady loop there, stopping for a refreshment at the Stadtwaldhaus in between...

Nice walk to get out
