When I did the "Landstreifer Die Berge" (Country Stroller The Mountains) with the detour to Gemen Castle on May 25th, I was so impressed that I immediately planned a new tour. I checked on Komoot to see if there were any must-see highlights in Borken. Mostly, they were towers of the former city wall

After yesterday's end-of-year celebration with my orienteering club, my scales asked me this morning, rather smugly, if I might consider some physical activity. While they weren't entirely wrong, I decided to ignore them for the time being.

Today I went to the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park again. This hike falls into the "having fun" category, because things get serious again starting January 17, 2026. From then until March 14, 2026, it's time to "lace up my hiking boots and cover kilometers for a good cause." Having managed 566 km in 2024

A short break in the form of a long weekend from Friday to Monday at Center Parcs North Sea Coast. A hike was a must, of course. The planned path to the south of the route wasn't there, so I was forced to choose an alternative. Even though I don't usually like taking the same route back, I decided to

When I planned the route, it was: From Dülmen through the Merfelder Bruch, as I also wanted to hike through a section of it. However, at the point where I was supposed to enter according to Komoot (photos 19/20), the gate was locked, even though the hiking trail was marked with an X beyond it. So, I

Today's hike was a suggestion from Komoot dated October 24th. Although the route wasn't that old, after about 20 km I was forced to find an alternative, as the originally planned path was so overgrown with brambles that I didn't want to fight my way through it for the sake of my legs. So, the planned

Gemeinsam Laufen - Gemeinsam Helfen and others went running.

Today I set off without a route plan and just followed the paths "as my mind took me." This finally allowed me to satisfy my curiosity about what that memorial stone (picture 1) is. I'd seen it on various hikes in the past from the parallel trails, but deviating from the planned route always seemed too
