If you are coming from Kiel by car, there is a small, conveniently located car park here. This consists of two parts: a short, fully shaded parking strip at the bus stop and another one towards Schierensee next to the meadow.

The forest path around the Schierensee is simply great for hiking. Curved trails lead all the way around. In a few places it is a bit muddy. Branches have been laid down there to make it easier to get through.
