この区間の道は乾燥している時のみ歩きやすく、長雨や雪解けの後には、部分的にウェーダーなしでは進めません。

森の端にある道は、日当たりが良く、遠くまで見渡せるので特に気に入っています。それでも、太陽や雨からは守られています。

Two regional train lines run from Felde station, with the following connections: • RE74: Runs hourly between Kiel Hbf – Rendsburg – Husum. • RB75: Serves the Kiel Hbf – Rendsburg route with additional stops in Kiel-Russee, Melsdorf, Achterwehr, Bredenbek, and Schülldorf. Both lines are operated by Nordbahn and usually run every half hour. The journey time to Kiel is approximately 15–20 minutes.

The Felder Holz forest is dominated by coniferous trees - today, through targeted reforestation, the forest is being transformed into a diverse mixed deciduous forest: beech, oak, and alder increasingly dominate the forest landscape and promote biodiversity and resilience to climate change.

The Westensee Nature Park is characterized by glacial moraine landscapes, hills, valleys, moors, and lakes. The Felder Holz is a typical example: a small forest area with many small lakes. Here, at the northern edge of the forest, lies such a lake, offering ideal conditions for herons and geese.

We were able to observe noisy jays here.
