A nice parking lot and starting point for a beautiful tour through nature 🍄‍🟫🥾

The river is 15.7 km long and has a height difference of 10 meters. It originates north of Aukrug-Innien from the confluence of the Buckener Au and Fuhlenau, with the Buckener Au being the longer source. The Bünzau is a sand-covered lowland stream.[1] Important tributaries are the Höllenau and Bredenbek. The Bünzau was navigable for the barges common at the time until around 1870. This was used to transport timber from Aukrug south to the Stör and further to the Elbe. In 2005, traces of a beaver were first found in the Bünzau.

The Lübeck Trade was an important trade route in the Middle Ages that connected the cities of Lübeck and Hamburg. Several memorial stones along this route commemorate its historical importance.

It is beautiful here in every season.

You can hike along here very relaxed, but you should expect mosquitoes in summer and be prepared accordingly.

The European beech, often called the common beech, is a plant species from the beech genus within the beech family. In everyday language it is usually referred to as a beech. The botanical spelling "European beech" emphasizes its membership in the beech genus.

From here the "Red Loop" starts along the Bünzau through the Aukrug National Park.
