The village of Boksee, with 460 inhabitants, was first mentioned in 1378 as Buckze. The name likely means "beech lake," a connection still reflected in the three golden beech leaves on the village's coat of arms. The village lies in the Barkauer Land region of the Plön district, in the northern part of the East Holstein Hills and Lakes region. The Schleswig-Holstein branch of the ADAC (German Automobile Club) maintains a driver training area here.

My dear wife hiked this trail, "Eider Valley with Blue Bridge," with me on July 20, 1925. The blue bridge is the first iron structure in this area.

My dear wife and I passed through here on our hike "Eider Valley with Blue Bridge." We enjoyed the forest and the landscape. We missed this granite.

I passed by here on my hike "Parking lot🅿️ in the Sören Forest - Forest parking lot 🅿️ Blumenthal Loop from Blumenthal." It was a lovely short hiking holiday.

It has now completely grown over.

Very beautiful forest and good paths.

Definitely avoid it in June, as there are more mosquitoes in the ponds than we've ever seen in Sweden!
