Between the Johanniskreuz and Oberhammer, the two-part scattered settlement is the only inhabited place in the valley of the Moosalbe.

The Gutenbrunnerhof, today's annex of the municipality of Trippstadt, is located a good distance before the Moosalbsprung at the Lauberhof. The Lauberhof appeared in documents as early as 1174, first as a Hornbach monastery property and then as a Eußerthal monastery property. The Gutenbrunnerhof, on the other hand, is on the other side of the Moosalb valley. Cottages across the creek were first mentioned in the 18th century. Mostly lumberjacks and coal burners lived there with their large families. This is documented by maps drawn up by Baron Franz Carl Josef von Hacke (1727-1780) between 1762 and 1773, because huts were marked on them at the edge of the forest.
