We have been on the road for 7 days by bike ... so today a shady short tour in our area.

Today again on the bike in the hope that the wind will bring us some cooling. Start in Bad Dürkheim and along the Haardt with its pretty wine villages and via Gimmeldingen, Mußbach and along the Speyerbach to Haßloch. From there through an agricultural landscape ... on the way we bought asparagus and potatoes 🥔 ... back to the car 🚗. A great tour ... but slightly shot in the end.

Despite diversions, closures and construction sites 🚧 we still found a parking lot close to the road on the parking island. The highlights were the Hannelore Kohl Promenade ... the snail noodle bridge and the old gauge at the chamber lock. The bypass of the Kaiserwörthhafen was not so exciting .. but there were separate bike lanes everywhere. On to the “Blue Adriatic” ... unfortunately there was little opportunity to take a look at the beautiful ponds, as all the properties were sealed off from view. Via Altrip, the Waldsee yacht harbor, Neuhofen and the beautiful Wiesental Rehbach, we went back to the 🚘, a very beautiful and varied tour.

Bike tour in our vicinity. It was interesting to watch the stork couple with their 4 cubs. The nest was soon bursting at the seams ... on April 20th. Irene, Ingo, Ida and Ilse were born.

Today only with a hiking friend. Still, it was beautiful as there was a lot to discover. The pictures speak for themselves..have a little time at the moment..so only a short version.

We learned through Google that the Gienanth Landscape Park is only open to the public on certain occasions. Nevertheless we try our luck ... a worker from the company invited us to go through the open gate into the park. A dream, the wooded steep slope with the mausoleum .. the orangery .. the garden and greenhouse ..
The park was designed as an English landscape garden from 1826 to 1834 by the horticultural artist Johann Ludwig Metzger.
That was the first part of today's excursion
