Eleven of us started this beautiful tour today.
In the Middle Ages, the Palatinate was the center of European history. An important ruling family were the Counts of Leiningen. The Leininger Burgenweg (Leiningen Castle Trail) runs between the testimonies of their rule, connecting the ancestral castle of

When today after work I had chosen an unknown patch of earth in the Donnersbergkreis, I didn't know that I would walk past a field with fruit trees, which less than a month ago fell victim to a field fire. I smelled it first and then I saw the black earth. Luckily, the fire department was fast enough

Today I had the honor of getting to know Angelo and Petra. We had chosen the Karlstalschlucht circular hiking trail. Large parts of the trail are in the shade, but in between we really worked up a sweat, because it is quite sunny up to the Sägmühlweiher. Nevertheless, it is very beautiful and varied

Started out shivering this morning at 15 degrees and almost collapsed on the way back at 36 degrees. I was thrilled with the Hellerhütte, the great plum cake (still warm) took me back to my childhood. Otherwise, the hut is nicely shaded in the forest and has many outdoor seating areas.
Almost the entire

As beautiful as the pictures are, it is all the sadder to see the heath compared to previous years. I like to be proven wrong. But most of the plants are not flowering because they simply didn't have and don't have enough water. The atmosphere was nice nonetheless. Dear @Biitii 105 💗💜, I was very happy

The solar eclipse could not be seen from the Adlerbogen, but it was still a nice little round, and I love the view down into the valley. On the way home, I was still able to catch a glimpse from a small parking lot.

Back in the Palatinate, I wanted to do a forest tour far away from people today. Yesterday it was very pleasant to walk in the woods. Today was different, it was simply just hot and humid. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the tour very much. I only hiked on narrow paths, it was uphill all the way to the castle

My trip to my homeland has at least resulted in a decent hike.
Streams, forest, meadow and distant views, this tour has a bit of everything. We are in the Südschwarzwald Nature Park, but nobody says that here. The first thing you learn here is, we are in the Hotzewald. This is the southernmost tip of

The mountain lake above Säckingen is a natural lake whose exact age is unknown. But it is suspected that its origin dates back to the Ice Age. In 1802 and 1803, it was altered by human hands, receiving an inflow from the Schöpfebach, which I also walked along today (almost no water). It used to be called

Visiting home to lend my father a hand.
The longest covered wooden bridge in Europe is an important "formative piece" of my youth. We used to chill on the third pillar (it used to be accessible, now the peepholes above are nailed shut, because of us?), smoke our first cigarettes, and jump 10m down from

Hello my friends, today the last excursion from Picardy, before heading home tomorrow. Today we were once again drawn far away from the beautiful beaches to Amiens, which is known for its many churches (which French city isn't?), but also for its floating gardens. The Hortillonnages involve a water labyrinth

I wouldn't have dreamed of spending such a beautiful day by the sea. Many of you know it, it's that time of year again, the day my life was saved. 13 years ago, I received life-saving stem cells from my brother because I suffered from a rare stem cell disease and without this therapy, I would be six

Today's tour in Normandy was really, really beautiful, if it hadn't been 35 degrees. But if any of you happen to be nearby, please go the original path, I've attached the tour below. The path up on the cliffs was soooooo beautiful, only when crossing the small valley did I give up, it was very steep

"Bonjour tous le monde",
today it was to Berck sur Mer. This tour was, let me tell you, strenuous. No elevation gain, but about 6km of sandy beach and dunes and about 95% sun. I've gotten used to the fact that there are no benches outside the official areas. But I made the most of every square meter of

This pretty little hiking trail was voted Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in 2024 by the German Hiking Institute. And over just under 8 km, it offers everything your heart desires: beautiful views of the Rhine, many seating areas with swings, narrow paths, forest sections, slate rocks, a small
