A beautiful castle and a beautiful park with old trees and a fountain in Trippstadt. The builder of the facility was Franz Karl Freiherr von Hacke with his wife. This name is very well known around here as it owned all of the ironworks. The castle also has a French garden. In 1833 the entire estate with the castle was acquired by Reichsrat Ludwig von Gienanth and later sold to the Bavarian state. Today it is the seat of the Forest Research Institute of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Trippstadt baroque palace
The most striking building in Trippstadt is the baroque castle, the small residence in the Palatinate Forest. The builder of the Trippstadt palace was Franz Karl Josef Freiherr von Hacke. The castle was started in 1764 according to the plans of the builder Sigmund Jacob Haeckher and completed in 1767. The palace building is single-wing and two-story. The castle garden is freely accessible all year round.
Today the castle is the seat of the research institute for forest ecology and forestry.
