The Höllenau and the Olendieksau rivers originate in the Schönbek Moor; the latter flows into the Brahmsee lake. This places the moor on the watershed between the Stör river system and the Wehrau river system, the latter of which now flows into the Kiel Canal and formerly flowed into the Eider river 😉...

A lovely spot to take a short break and enjoy the direct view of the small lake 😉...

The western shore of Lake Einfelder is indeed very beautiful and well worth hiking on.

On the western side of the lake is a beautiful nature reserve. You can enjoy a pleasant walk along the shore on the hiking trail, which also leads into the forest in some sections. It's a great place to hike around the lake or even combine it with a hike to Lake Bordesholm.

This is the rampart of an old castle dating back to around the 9th century. The structure is circular, approximately 100 meters in diameter. A beautiful, quiet spot not far from the water.

This farm shop is located quite far out of town, in a wooded area. I was there one weekend in November. The van was still well-stocked with produce.

The violet chanterelle looks like it came from an enchanted forest: its surreal midnight blue color and velvety soft. It's also quite rare. While it's edible, it tastes more like forest floor. Better to look at it than cook it!

This letter is lying on a bench at the Moorweg intersection. The wishes are very valuable—but the question of trust moves me more deeply.
