Celtic ring wallAt this point is the western part of the Celtic hillside settlement, which was secured by an artificially constructed, 10m high and approx. 100m long barricade. A ditch about two meters deep, which can still be seen today, was placed in front of this rampart to further secure the system. In the middle there was a passage that was secured with a gate. The entire area of the Celtic hilltop settlement extends over an area of 30 to 40 hectares. Source: Text information board

Rest bench on the ring wall of the Celtic hilltop settlement. Due to the exposed location of the settlement on a Hunsrück plateau formed by the Rhine and tributaries, the wall only had to secure the path on the ridge.
