The flint cross is reminiscent of a rider who fell from his horse here and had a fatal accident. The cross was made between 1900 and 1920.
Nowadays you have a great view of the Weilerer Bachtal all the way to the Rhine. The village of Kestert is on the other side of the Rhine.

Flint cross
This quartz stone cross was integrated into the quarry stone wall between 1900 and 1920. The occasion was an accident in which a rider who was on the way to the mill fell from his horse at this point and had a fatal accident. Today there is a unique view of the deeply cut Weilerer Bachtal up to the Rhine and the small town of Kestert on the right bank of the Rhine. Source: Text information board
