Interesting story inside a castle park to find a landmark.

It is certainly not a boundary stone. It is probably meant to be art.

        MENHIR

Work of art by G.Th.Lieselotte Anschütz-Russwurm

        Size approx. 145/66/75 cm

        Material granite

Year 1992 Lieselotte Anschütz-Russwurm placed the menhir on the edge of the Ahaweg, which flanks the castle park and then leads to the State Majolika Manufactory Karlsruhe. The small rock in the landscape is natural at first glance. On closer inspection, you can see a line that ends in a hexagonal drawing. This small but decisive intervention by the artist gives the stone a mysterious aura. She studied sculpture under Prof. Hans Kindermann at the State Academy of Fine Arts from 1952 to 1959, and became his master student in the early 1960s. Lieselotte Anschütz-Russwurm died on March 16, 2022 at the age of 96 in Heidelberg.
