an insane tour today, up to about 2 km everything on paths, rock or root paths, a dream 😊 Definitely worth it to run!
First we went over the wilderness trail that truly deserves its name. Over innumerable trees and ladders you have to climb to get on the mountain trail which is also totally beautiful. From the top it goes down to Herrenwies where it was then to balance on a tree trunk lying in the water to the art path (where there are no more exhibits 🤔) to come.
From there on Herrenwieser Lake over to run up the mountain again ... At the top, it went over hill and dale at the Gertelbach waterfalls down. Also a very adventurous way over wooden bridges, rocks, roots and stones. Luckily, I do not have a hard time running downhill over rough terrain ...
Arrived at the bottom of the Gertelbach hut it was about to make up for the increased HM 😁

in order to persuade Emily to give up the place in front of the fireplace during steady rain, it only helped to keep going. But then you did not want too much 😅 Although it was only a short round, we were pitschenass 😖
Tomorrow will hopefully be better with the weather ...

I finished the tour yesterday. After almost 9 hours drive home 😩 no drive had to upload the tour.
For various reasons, I had again refrained from climbing although the weather was much better this time. On a Sunday in nice weather, I would not do this tour again. That was from Berchtesgaden slalom through the crowds 😖

The day was still young, so after the change of clothes and a cup of hot tea again marched off. At the Königsee then boarded one of the boats that went to St. Bartholomew. Despite the pouring rain, the boat was quickly filled to the last seat and we drove off almost directly. Due to the many rain-wet people, the windows of the boat completely fogged, so that the view unfortunately remained completely closed to us and was only occasionally released by wiping small gaps. For the trip was suddenly very entertaining after a guide of the Schiffartsgesellschaft resorted to the microphone and in a very entertaining way data and facts about the sea, the fleet, the history of the king but also about calamities in the mountains for the best. The happily fueled mood of the passengers let him probably run to top form and last but not least, despite the heavy rain, he pulled out a flugelhorn to demonstrate the echo of the Königsee with a little song. Understands that then the cap went around, supposedly for a beer. While the rest of the boat after the landing mostly flowed directly into the restaurant, we made our way to the ice chapel, which was only dare specified with 1 ¼ hour. The description and the pictures I had seen made me curious. "Below the Watzmann east face is the deepest permanent ice field of the German Alps: the Ice Chapel! ... In addition, there is a spacious cavity inside the ice field: the so-called ice chapel. Its entrance is like a glacier gate, the interior forms various shafts and passages, which reach in the summer to over 30 m wide and 15 m high. "Https://berchtesgaden.de/eiskapelle-am-koenigssee On initially cozy, steadily rising It went through mossy forest, later the path changed to rooty, stony and more like a stream. Again and again small streams had to be crossed, which flowed from all sides into the basin. The bridges that were previously installed had all been blessed, but that was not so bad as you could jump over on stones. Arriving at the central river, the missing bridge made our way to Eiskappele a big deal. Due to the heavy rain, it was so swollen that even with a lot of courage no crossing was possible. We had the glacier for quite a while in mind and so soon before everything should be over? A little bit further up the river, hoping to find a way over big rocks to get over there. Unfortunately no indication but at least one could take a look at the entrance to the ice chapel, which was already impressive. As the rain became even stronger (that was actually possible) we set off on the way back and discovered that the creeks had risen further and it became more difficult to cross. Back at the dock, the rain gear finally had enough and refused further service. Wet to the bones, we then renounced the onward journey to the Obersee and thus to this experience. We only wanted to get back to the hotel under the hot shower.
Since my combo recording has broken off in between and I had to upload the tour again, I have unfortunately not managed to restore the order of the images correctly.

the second tour of the rainy day. Komoot included the boat trip, so the tour was a bit shorter ...
Unfortunately the way to the ice chapel was blocked by the strong rise of the Eisbach and we could only look at it from a distance 😕
Actually we wanted to do a tour on the Obersee afterwards but we were so drenched that we only wanted to go back to the hotel under the hot shower.

Since I did not want to join the fixed rope route today, I did my alternative program. While the others of our group took the train up to the via ferrata I climbed the whole mountain.
Despite continuous rain and further up the snow, it was a great tour 🙂
As soon as I was up and dressed warmer, the others arrived at the cable car, perfect timing 👍😁
We then adjourned the summit cross because the weather was getting worse up there and we also wanted to do another tour ...
