In summer there is a shady beer garden behind the inn, which is usually packed. From here you can climb up to the guardian of the Ellerbach valley, the Eulenstein rock formation, in just a few minutes. Highly recommended and worthwhile climb!

Mountain biking

a pit stop at the Hönig is a must. His beer garden is in the back of the restaurant and brewery. He still brews his beer himself and it also tastes very good. His food, whether warm or cold, is a poem. Recommended every time

Hiking

A brewery inn with good home-style cooking and a tasty beer. An old tradition characterizes the brewery Hönig in Tiefenellern. Since 1778 the brewery and the inn "Zur Post" are family owned. The brewing right exists since 1478 and can be documented. The inn used to be an old post office. Here the horses were recaptured from Bamberg and with fresh strength they pulled the stagecoach up the Tiefenellerer Berg up to Hollfeld.
