Historically, the Heroldsmühle is very interesting. Documented the Herold mill with a miller to Herold stone in 1355 first mentioned. Until the early 1950s, the mill was in operation as a flour mill. The old building was aborted in 1974. Only the south gable, with the hand-forged mill wheel of 1916, which is 7.20 meters in diameter, which is considered the largest iron mill wheel in Germany, was preserved.

Unfortunately, the Heroldsmühle or the restaurant located there is no longer in operation and thus closed. Opposite a resident, however, has a nice idea and offers home-baked cake.

The Heroldsmühle is worth seeing because of the history and the old mill wheel, the inn was unfortunately closed. Parking is only available at the hiking car park on St2187.

Mill from 1355 of imperial knightly origin, formerly an inn but closed since 2/2016
The Heroldsmühle, surrounded by fish ponds, was one of the oldest grinding mills in Franconian Switzerland until it was closed and is of imperial knighthood. Even before the turn of the 20th century, an inn was operated here. The old iron water wheel, probably one of the largest in Franconian Switzerland, has been preserved and is still functional. With a diameter of 12 m, the mill has the second largest mill wheel in Germany.
