Historically, the Heroldsmühle is very interesting. Documented the Herold mill with a miller to Herold stone in 1355 first mentioned. Until the early 1950s, the mill was in operation as a flour mill. The old building was aborted in 1974. Only the south gable, with the hand-forged mill wheel of 1916, which is 7.20 meters in diameter, which is considered the largest iron mill wheel in Germany, was preserved.

Unfortunately, the Heroldsmühle or the restaurant located there is no longer in operation and thus closed. Opposite a resident, however, has a nice idea and offers home-baked cake.

The Heroldsmühle is worth seeing because of the history and the old mill wheel, the inn was unfortunately closed. Parking is only available at the hiking car park on St2187.

Mountain biking

Mill with old iron mill wheel from 1916. It has a diameter of 7.20 m and is considered one of the largest mill wheels in Germany. Especially the hollow stone column in the water is directed upwards to additional drive. Mill operation until 1952. At the moment also no catering.
