The Virgin's Cave might at first appear to be a somewhat harmless cave, but it hides a dark secret: during excavations, the bone remains of at least forty people were found (many children, some women, two men), who were most likely victims of a cult celebration around 5100 BC.
The so-called Black Cross, which stands nearby, commemorates these dead.

Former cult place with finds around approx. 5100 v. Chr. In addition to stone and ceramics, human bones were also found in the cave. Attention when entering the cave, it is first over 2m vertically down. Do not forget: you have to go up there! Parking to the Jungfernhöhle is signposted for motorists between Herzogenreuth and Neudorf.

Jungfernhöhle is a small cave. Unfortunately the entry is so low that I need a little ladder. In front of the Jungfernhöhle there is a plaque with a story about the cave. There are then the possibilities not far from there to visit Eulenstein. The distance would be just under 2 km. A good combination to visit the cave and Eulenstein.
