During the Open Monument Day there are (in some years) guided tours and you can visit the large wind tunnel, the engine test bench, the hall and the whirling tower outside and inside (see my photos). We thought it was great!

Three exceptionally designed buildings bear witness to the long tradition of aviation research in Adlershof. They were built in the mid-1930s by the German Aerospace Research Institute (DVL). Their innovative tradition is continued today by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) here at the site.
