The Johannisthal (formerly Schöneweide) railway loop is a type of park on the grounds of the former Schöneweide marshalling yard. It now belongs to the Johannisthal district and runs parallel to the railway line between the Johannisthal S-Bahn station (formerly Schöneweide depot) and Adlershof. Permanent habitats for sand lizards have also been created here. Near the Johannisthal S-Bahn station (formerly Schöneweide depot), two enclosed circular areas with remnants of track have been laid out.

Hiking

Until 1998, this was the site of the Schöneweide railway depot and shunting yard. Now, a green space, the "Gleislinse Landscape Park," is being created here. The area is called "Gleislinse" (track lens) because the tracks leading into and out of the city were spaced in a lens-shaped pattern.

Many elements of the design still recall the former location (railway sleepers, etc.).
