It is said to be Celtic sacrificial bowls used for ritual purposes.
    But there are other explanations...

Due to the long-lasting dry period, the bathing rocks are dried out - thus, of course, far and wide no Elwet tritsche.

Nice place! All the wells were filled - but in the past few days it had poured a few times. The Elwetritsche are very shy ... none seen.

The Kesselberg is 662 m above sea level. NHN after the Kalmit with 673 m the second highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest. A natural monument on the Kesselberg are the so-called Gletschermulden, which are red sandstone rocks with round depressions. There are also interpretations that the troughs are to be interpreted as Celtic sacrificial bowls or glacial pots.

Rock formation in which Elvetrians are said to bathe.

Beautiful rock formation, which should be of Celtic origin. Unfortunately the bathrooms were not filled with water.

The Kesselberg is 661.8 m above sea level. NHN is the second highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest after Kalmit and the third highest in the Palatinate. If you are looking for a tour with a lot of altitude, you should plan de Berg. There is no spectacular view - too many trees - but a very nice forest path on the ridge. And in winter you have the chance of snow.

Highest point in the corner to which a beautiful hiking trail leads. However, you cannot enjoy the view over the Palatinate from here.
