Every day, some people walk past it, some glance at it, some don't even notice it anymore: The Ottensen Archway has stood in Spritzenplatz since 1980 and is an integral part of the cityscape for many. However, the archway wasn't accepted or even loved from the beginning. The sculpture's creator, Doris Waschk-Balz, has lived in Hamburg since 1964 and has worked in Ottensen for many years.
