In a cool 10 degrees and high fog, we went on the last stamp tour this morning at 8:15 a.m. on the day of departure. There was no all-round visibility, but there was heavenly peace, light wind and gentle spray. Just right to clear your head before the 300km return journey. 😀 4.5 days of hiking in the

    1. The hiking day started sunny ☀️at around 8:00 a.m. in Benneckenstein near the train station. As the day went on it became more and more cloudy and it actually rained for 10 minutes.🌦️

In nice 18 degree hiking weather, but everything was bearable.

      Today's highlights:

      The Carlshausturm and the Ziegenalm

    1. Walkenried Monastery is really impressive. You feel very small in front of the impressive ruins.😳

The karst hiking trail around the Itelteich is a real gem.🥰You hike incredibly high above the pond, always narrowly along steep rock and tree slopes.

To the left of the path, a field at the same level, to

    1. The beautiful village of Neuhof is located directly on the Karstweg. Everything here looks very well maintained and new and makes a tidy impression.😃

Impressive rock formations at the Sachsensteinhütte welcome visitors to the place. The second stamp point in town is at a historic gypsum kiln. Together

    1. Today there was a beautiful mountainous tour on the program. There were 5 stamp points to hike. Between Bad Lauterberg and Bad Sachsa it was constantly going up and down.⛰️⛰️

A former listening post on the Ravensberg, also called the small Brocken, and a no longer existing listening post, the Stöberhai

    1. 6th and last tour today. Off to the chapel spot. The bark beetle and the drought have done a great job here.

A number of spruce trees line the side of the path, but they have only been sawn up and neatly stacked.

It looks shockingly beautiful up here. But other trees are growing here and there. It's still

    1. Nice little loop around the Katzsohlteich in Güntersberge.

I also picked up the Güntersburg stamp for the stamp booklet: Harz Castles & Palaces.

      Short but nice😃

    1. A short historical excursion near the stairs. The Selkenfeld ski jump including the trenches has an interesting history.⚔️🛡️

Exciting to walk through the old trenches.

The Selkenfelde/Kirche desert is only suitable for wild insults from hikers.😏

There isn't much to see here.

    1. If you stand down in front of the Joseph's Cross you think, well... it's not that high.

Thanks to the open steel construction and plenty of wind, it looks completely different from above.😲 I didn't even let go of the railing until I reached the top. Even when taking photos on the floor below, I had to

    1. On this hike today there was a free foot massage for a good 2.5 hours 🙄 Forest and gravel paths as far as your feet would take you. Plus long stretches above the reservoirs, where there is hardly a tree left. Thanks to a lot of wind today, it was blowing like pike soup.

The highlight of the tour was
