The Abtnaundorf Park was created in the 18th century as a manor park and expanded in the style of a landscape garden under the Frege family before it was severely damaged by war, neglect and deforestation over the course of history. Despite these changes, some historical elements such as the pond with island and temple were preserved, while the castle initially served as a hospital after being expropriated during the GDR era and was later renovated.
