As an evening round, a part of the Finnewanderweg was walked today, which I am now also including in the program. Schulpforta Monastery is the highlight here and the area around it. Entry is a bit tough.

Today I was able to find the position of the Koniks. It was just the path I hadn't taken the last time.

Since the weather forecast was very good this morning, we continued this afternoon from Jena on the Thüringenweg to Bad Berka. All in all, an above-average stage with many highlights, but also a number of forest road sections that I didn't find that exciting. I particularly liked the beginning in the Jena Forest, the Kötsch and the path from Buchfart to the Paulinenturm. The tower season has not yet started, so I won't be doing the three-tower trail in the next few weeks either.

Today we went to Greiz to continue hiking on the Thüringenweg. I already know the area from the Elsterperlenweg, which here partially overlaps the Thuringia Trail. Nevertheless, the tour offered a lot that I didn't know, such as the village green of Nitschareuth, which is well worth seeing. Actually, I had planned to walk to Wünschendorf, but since the weather wasn't the best and a RE drove in Berga, I left it at a good 20km today.

Had worked a few minutes longer so that it wasn't enough for a big round. So it was off to the southeast of Erfurt to discover the Muhlequelle. Unfortunately, the paths were partly in bad condition up until then.

Today I had planned the first stage of the Thuringia Trail from Altenburg, also because I had never been to Altenburg or the Altenburger Land. My expectation was that it would be the most unattractive stage. While hiking, I noticed that the markings and signage are excellent here, of all places. This has to do with the fact that most of the stage is also a Luther Trail, which was probably newly laid out a few years ago. The route is also a bit different from the original Thuringia Trail, which I didn't want to go here, as you kill two birds with one stone here. On more than half of the route you also walk on the Via Imperii. In terms of attractiveness, everything was as I expected.

Today the Thüringenweg was on the program again, with a stage that can be reached quickly from Erfurt. Therefore, I already knew some sections here because I have already walked them in another combination. What was new for me was the path from Paulinzella to Singer Berg, which is partly identical to the Luther and Jakobsweg, as well as the section to the Heyda dam. The brewery and the Singer Berg are particularly worthwhile here. After the descent from Singer Berg, the path from Dörnfeld does not have an optimal course to the Heyda valley dam, which I sometimes did not like as the tour first has to cross the high-speed route and the motorway and then it goes on a road to Wipfra from there to get to the dam over the admittedly quite handsome rock face. After Heyda, the tour comes on the Von-Bach-zu-Goethe-Qualitätsweg and therefore has another pretty strong finale that ends with a beautiful view of Martinroda.

Today I finished my home office again and shortly before 3 I took the IC to Gera, where I haven't hiked before. In the beginning it was a city with partly nice architecture and a beautiful view of Gera. Then you continue to Bad Köstriz in the tranquility of nature, which is only briefly interrupted by the motorway.
