The town hall was built after a competition in 1965 in a modernist style with simple but exclusive materials. Copper and light stone fields are used on the outside. The floor covering in the halls and corridors consists of marble and Bornholm tiles, the wall surfaces are covered with limestone and bronze. A strict rhythm divided into fields can be seen in the façade. At the inauguration, a large, level-adjusting staircase marked the town hall square and the importance of the building.
