Unterwegs im Norden ⚓ Mal mit, mal ohne Kind 👩👦
Dates Dates! That would have been faster if I hadn't had lunch in Barmbek. But when the time is there 😉
From Barmbek I drove the route to Mundsburg for the first time. Dreadful! The path is manageable, but hardly more asphalt is possible 😣
The ladybird larva on my bike surprised me. Wouldn't have thought that there would still be some so late in the year! 🐞

Tonight there was a spontaneous canoe tour with a colleague on the Hamburg canals. It was actually a round trip, but I only tracked from the entrance to the Mühlenkamp Canal. We were also able to watch the kingfisher there. There was a beautiful sunset with a butter biscuit break on the Stadtparksee. Back across the branch canal it was really dark, but wonderfully empty and calm on the water 😊

After the school course to become a chiropractor and then a tour of discovery through HafenCity. The district definitely stands out with its ingenious playgrounds. Otherwise ... well, it's HafenCity 🤷🏼♀️ I probably won't really warm up to the district.
The bike path along the city dike was definitely nice.
And a surprising highlight for me was the Störtebeker column in Hamm-Süd. I would never have expected something like that in the district

On the last day in Cuxhaven, his son got his guided hike through the mudflats. Specially designed for children from the blue classroom. At this point a big recommendation 😉
We met lugworm, ringworm (which is not a lugworm as we now know), running clams and a baby beach crab today. However, the boy had the most fun digging, while his mum talked to the mudflat guide on a technical level 🙈
Our Cuxhaven vacation is now over. But we already have a whole list of things that we want to do there next time 😉*************

After a - for me rather depressing - boat tour to the seal banks followed by a harbor porpoise sighting, we made a very relaxed tour this afternoon and evening. We discovered a straight mountain bike route, went to see penguins in the spa park and ate ice on the way to the water. There was an extended tour through the mudflats on the border between the Elbe and the North Sea, where we could see a live beach crab up close. Then the great playground with the Viking ship, a Spartan dinner and a magnificent sunset. On the way back we discovered the first star. So beautiful ❤️

Mandatory program on the first day: barefoot into the mudflats! 💦 We found: dug up periwinkles, crab remains, North Sea shrimp, lugworm and pepper clams, a small dead fish 😥 and bladderwrack. Exciting!
The rest of the way dread us to the ATM. You never know where you can't pay with an EC card 🙈

Vacation in Cuxhaven - The son wanted to go to the Wadden Sea and the easiest way to get to Cuxhaven from Hamburg is by train 🤷🏼♀️ The hotel was of course a short sightseeing tour on foot. With a child on the road twice as long. Especially when it wants to pick flowers on the dike. For grandma, for grandpa, for the whole family 😂 Why not for everyone? 😉

I'm still trying to find a green route south from home that is as easy to drive as possible. This tour is a bit better than the last, but I'm far from satisfied. The paths are so damn bad to drive on and in the industrial areas they are sometimes completely blocked 🙄
In general, it's too much industry there for me ... Very spontaneously, I made the rounds to Reit today. From Tatenberg to Moorfleet there are lots of beautiful corners. And it bothers me again massively that the area is so difficult to reach by public transport from us 😅

Vita and I met through komoot and this was our first real meeting 🎉 (and my little return to hiking).
We looked at the beautiful botanical garden, walked through Westerpark and Wesselhöftpark to the Elbe. Through the sometimes adventurous Jenischpark we went back to the Klein Flottbek S-Bahn station. It is beautifully green here! 🌱💚
Good conversations accompanied us on the walk and so we are planning more hikes in the future (which then also deserved the title hike) 😊
