Small park in the immediate vicinity of the Jesuit Church and the university. The National Theater once stood on the square before it was destroyed in World War II. The namesake is immortalized here with a large statue. After the Mannheim National Theater at the premiere of the "robbers" on January 13, 1782 is said to have made a madhouse, the then relatively unknown Friedrich Schiller became famous overnight. Schiller then worked for a year as a theater poet in Mannheim.
