The name may be a bit confusing - is probably historical. Baden is strictly prohibited due to the current. Nevertheless, the meadow attracts many visitors: barbecues, ball games, Rhine ships or just enjoy the sun. There is also a playground and a restaurant with a large terrace.

The Mannheim lido is located in the Niederfeld district.
It is bordered by the "Reißinsel" nature reserve, the "Bei der Silberpappel" nature reserve, and the parking lot in front of the lido.
The area of the present-day lido and Reißinsel were acquired by Carl Reiß in 1881 and, after his death, bequeathed to the people of Mannheim to provide them with recreational opportunities in nature. The Rhine lido was first opened in 1927.
