St. John's Hospital is one of the oldest and best-preserved hospital buildings in Europe, dating back to the 12th century. Sick and needy people were cared for here. Anyone who needed care or a place to sleep was welcome there. The medieval hospital wards with their chapel and impressive attic are now a modern museum. The central theme of "hospitality" takes you into the history of care and recovery. A stimulating place with a diverse collection of art and everyday objects. Admire masterpieces by the Flemish primitive Hans Memling, such as the famous Ursula Shrine, as well as a selection of contemporary works of art. In addition to the wards, you should definitely pay a visit to the hospital pharmacy with its authentic 17th-century furnishings. Source:
