Originally, the historic Persil clock with the "White Lady", the advertising icon for a detergent brand, was located at the lower end of Krämerstrasse. When it was redesigned, it was given a new location in the old town.
The “White Lady” advertised for the first time in 1922 in a white dress and a white Florentine hat on a poster for Persil that had been designed by the Berlin painter Kurt Heiligenstaedt.
