With the warm Pentecost weather, we took an extensive stroll through the Gelsenkirchen Zoo. The zoo is very beautifully laid out and always offers shade. We saw many animals and had a lovely day with our grandchild.

Before celebrating the grandchild's 2nd birthday this afternoon, we went for another hike in the Bergisches Land. With 27 degrees and some climbs, we are now heading into the shade in the garden.

Our monthly round with friends went today to the lovingly renovated Saccus-hütte. Here we enjoyed our lunch snack with a great view. On the other side, it went past the retention basin through Langenholzen to the discovery tower, which we finally looked at from the inside.

While our car was at the inspection, we hiked from Duingen to the Milchbrinkhütte. The hut is very lovingly maintained and there are also outdoor seating areas. The view from the hut across to the Ith and into the wide country is wonderful.

In the Gifhorn area, there are many opportunities for bike tours. Like in Holland, you can cycle from hub to hub. Today we visited the Bernsteinsee and the Moorbahn, and also cycled a stretch along the Elbe-Seitenkanal.
