Gatow also had a mill, of course. A post mill was built on the 52 m high Kirchberg - today Windmühlenberg - around 1845. As part of the district's 750th anniversary, the historic post mill on Buchwaldzeile, which had once burned down, was rebuilt in the center of Gatow in 2007/2008. This means that the village's former landmark can once again be admired. The year the post mill was built varies greatly depending on the source (between 1824 and 1845). It stood on the Windmühlenberg in Gatow until 1921 as a landmark of the small village on the Havel.

The Gatow Mill is one of the eight remaining windmills in Berlin. The Gatow landmark is a listed building and can be visited daily.

The Windmühlenberg in Gatow, with its post mill, rises to 52 metres above sea level and is located on the edge of the historic village centre. The area is a nature reserve due to the steppe vegetation, which is rare in Berlin. But it is not only the vegetation, which is characterised by silver grass and lichen, that makes a detour to this place worthwhile. Here you are right at the most bizarre location in Spandau's film history. Until 1921, a post mill crowned the hill, but it literally went up in smoke. The entire windmill was burned down for the filming of the film "The Love Adventures of the Beautiful Evelyne or the Murder Mill on Evanshill". Unfortunately, not only the post mill has disappeared since then, but also the recordings: the film material is still considered lost to this day. Since 2008, however, there has been a mill on the Windmühlenberg again, which was ceremoniously inaugurated as part of the district's 750th anniversary celebrations. from visitspandau.de
