Hiking

When I see a lot of the pictures, there must have been water in here once. Unfortunately, that is not the reality. Almost all of the lakes and ponds in the Hönower Weiherkette are dry, a sad sight. The lakes in the chain of ponds are fed by groundwater and rainwater. As a result of the lack of precipitation for years, most of the water bodies have already dried up completely. A suggestion among others consists in diverting the rainwater from the new housing estate and Landsberger Chaussee to the chain of ponds - the outcome is uncertain.
