The 60-hectare Kienberg Park, completed for the IGA 2017, represents a new type of park that is very attractive due to its diverse links to the surrounding urban and landscape space as well as to the Gardens of the World and the variety of its uses and special unique selling points, such as the 1.5 km long cable car. The nucleus of the park is the 110-meter-high Kienberg. At its peak, this has a 30-meter-high viewing structure as a land art that can be seen from far away - the Wolkenhain. The Wolkenhain is modeled on a floating cloud that can be walked on. From the Wolkenhain, there is a fantastic view from a height of around 120 meters both of the center of Berlin and of the Brandenburg cultural landscape. In the base of the building there is a building with information for visitors and a restaurant. Terraces in front of it provide interesting views of the Kienberg area and the adjacent urban and landscape space. At the foot of the Kienberg are the elongated Kienberg terraces on a southern slope. A 300-meter-long bridge, the Wuhlesteg, spans the Wuhletal as a city link and connects Hellersdorf with Marzahn. In the eastern, urban prelude, there is a new town square with the Belvedere, the Märkischer Garten, the Elektropolis youth playground and the Hellersdorf valley station with a connection to the U5 as an entrance to the Kienbergpark. The Kienbergpark can be easily reached via the U5 subway line and the newly designed Kienberg - Gardens of the World subway station. Barrier-free travel is possible with the cable car over the Kienberg to the Gardens of the World. With the new environmental education center, which opened for the International Garden Exhibition Berlin 2017, an ideal learning place for shared experiences and real-life knowledge transfer as part of education for sustainable development has been created at the foot of the Kienberg. A varied and spacious natural park between Marzahn and Hellersdorf.
If you take your time and ignore the other visitors, you can experience one or two surprises here. In addition to various bird species, there are also beavers and deer here.
