The deanery of Our Lady's Church is not really located in the heart of the city, not on the Market, but a few hundred metres further on in the Kerkstraat on the Onze Lieve Vrouwkerkplein. This parish church is called a collegiate church because a chapter of canons used to be attached to it.
The church has a wealth of beautiful valuable works of art. This means that outside of church services, the church must remain closed.
However, from Easter to All Saints' Day, a guide is present every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 pm.

The church is built in the Scheldt Gothic. The church is particularly rich in art treasures, including paintings by antoon Van Dyck, David Teniers and Gaspar De Crayer, a Romanesque baptismal font made of Tournai stone, a beautiful pulpit, beautiful murals, etc.
The construction of the church started in the 13th century, but many elements were added over the years. The fact that the tower no longer has a spire is due to a storm at the end of 1940. It blew off and was never replaced afterwards.
