Scheldeveer Appels-Berlare also called Appels Veer. The wooden ferry bridge, adjacent part of the Scheldt bank with remaining masonry of old ferry head, two dolphins, wooden pontoon with iron footbridge, are protected.
Appels Veer is one of the oldest Scheldt ferries in the region of the Upper Scheldt. The ferry was already mentioned in 1253 on the occasion of its transfer by the Count of Flanders Guido van Dampierre to Gregorius, Lord of Appels.
