    Beautiful mountain lake with roadhouse.
    Also to reach by car.
But it's more fun over the Landsbergerhütte.

From 10 am to 5 pm, access by car is prohibited. The return from the lake is possible at any time!

A breathtaking lake with many fantastic impressions. He also did not seem to be as overcrowded as other lakes.
However, there was a small obstacle.
At the time of my visit (3.6.2018) unfortunately a small section of the circular route was closed. The sign at the beginning of the trail was unfortunately so small and inconspicuous that I did not see it. Thus, I have unsuspecting the way to the gate with the "locked - sign" gone and then I turned back to take the path on the other side of the lake to the Vilsalpe. From the other side I have seen that several people have walked there despite the "locked sign". On my way back around the lake, there were more people, so I also made my way along the closed path. At one point, he became so narrow and muddy, as a snowfield and some boulders on the way sticking out, that with stroller, wheelchair or walker the section can not pass. Even with a bike it was very tight. As a pedestrian with a little surefootedness it is already possible, but everyone has to decide for themselves ...!

Beautiful mountain lake, starting or ending point for many wonderful tours, framed by the incredibly beautiful mountains of the Tannheim Mountains. From many peaks you can see it lying in the valley.

Even here on the banks of the busy mountain lake you can find rare orchids, such as. the mountain forest hyacinth.

The Vilsalpsee is a 1165 m high lake in the Austrian Alps. The river Vils flows through it. Located below Gaishorn and Rauhorn, it is a popular tourist destination in the Tannheimer Tal. An easy hiking trail leads around the lake, which leads to the Bergaicht waterfall at the end of the valley.
From here you can start a number of hikes, e.g. Vilsapsee, Schrecksee to Landsberger Hütte (fantastic tour!).

Since you don't really get that 'mountain tour feeling' up to here by car or bus. The path from Tannheim is leisurely, along the lake it's first on the road. But the view is beautiful and the rock fall is impressive.

3 - Lake Tour Tannheim-Neunerköpfle-Landsberger Hütte-Vilsalpsee-Tannheim is a "face" for every mountain hiker; Descent from Landsberger Hütte to Vilsalpsee, however, not entirely without (approx. 900 m altitude difference).
