The Traualpsee power plant is an annual storage power plant that is put into operation especially during the winter season. The first system BJ 1963, the power house and all technical facilities including telecontrol technology were brought up to date in 2014 as part of the revitalization. Now an increase of approx. 17% in efficiency compared to the old system is achieved.The catchment area of the power plant extends over 2.5 km² and has a storage capacity of 1.7 million m³. The gradient is 470m, whereby an expansion water volume of 600l / s is achieved.

The Traualpsee is a 1631 m above sea level. A. high-altitude small reservoir above the Vilsalpsee in the Allgäu Alps in the municipality of Tannheim, Reutte district, Tyrol. The lake is 610 meters long, 416 meters wide, and has an area of 15.22 hectares.
