This bank was once an industrial site. Borsig had its ironworks here, and built steam engines and locomotives. Borsig was followed by the Schütt-Dampfmühlen / Kampfmeyer-Mühlen (the tower on the bank is a remnant), a large laundry (today AVM Fritz! Box) and the C. Bolle dairy (Bimmel-Bolle), from whose farm the milk trucks drove daily to supply the Berliners with milk at this location. The Federal Ministry of the Interior resided as a tenant in the U-shaped new building (on the former Bolle site) for several years. During his time as Federal Minister of the Interior, Otto Schily had a wonderful view of the other bank of the river from his office window, to the law firm of Hans-Christian Ströbele (after his conversion from the Greens to the SPD and his development into a conservative Minister of the Interior, the two were each other no longer green).

Here you pass the old dairy center of Bolle. Now here is a hotel. A piece of the Berlin Wall can also be found here, although there has never been a Wall here.

Very nice for a walk. It is recommended to visit the nearby Café Buchwald.
