Best Hiking Routes to Bundesratufer

Tips

  • The Bundesratufer is located in Tiergarten (Moabit) and runs along the Spree between Levetzowstrasse and Stromstrasse. The name refers to the Federal Council of the German Empire (1871 to 1918). Like today's Federal Council, the former one was not a parliament, but an institution made up of representatives of the states. Today's Federal Council of the Federal Republic of Germany, on the other hand, has its headquarters in the former building of the Prussian Mansion on Leipziger Strasse in Berlin-Mitte.The street was built around 1904 and has been called Bundesratufer since April 13, 1904. On the Bundesratufer you can find the Lessinghaus (No. 2, built in 1912 by Georg Jacobowitz) and the house No. 10 by Paul Schöne from 1906/07, both of which are listed buildings.
