A planned hike for superficial fitness testing without special expectations. Actually not that good prerequisites: Due to massive S-Bahn delay, train missed, so tour start an hour later than planned. Somehow it was almost 29 ° C. And already after about 15 km I felt something like the beginning of a bubble, which of course had a gigantic size in the end and at the same time increasingly depressed the pace and the mood.
About the tour itself: I only knew this OHV area from a short hike before. With the blooming meadows and fields and the many different birds it was really worth it. Unfortunately, I had to find out that there are also paths at Komoot that in reality either do not exist because farmers probably removed them at some point or that existed once, but are now so overgrown that you need the GPS to To be able to keep the direction in the sometimes almost shoulder-high grass. So this time I was very pleased when I finally got back on a solid path from running cross-country.
From Hennigsdorf this was no longer a problem either. In the Spandau Forest, the very idyllic dam through the Teufelsbruch is unfortunately currently not dry-accessible; the frogs and the moor have made their way back. After almost ending up in the moor after a slip, I took an alternative. The rest of the way is relatively unspectacular: Spectacular green parade, Tiefwerder Wiesen, Grunewald (the water dispenser at the old forester's house really saved my life this time!), Grunewaldsee, Messelpark, Kaiser-Wilhelm Platz and Erlenbusch. By the way, it was interesting how the audience at the spectacle meadows differed from the crowd in Dahlem, although everyone was doing the same thing: sitting on benches, drinking beer, chatting, enjoying the summer.
The bottom line remains: despite adverse circumstances, we mastered the challenge with wounds and got to know a new, beautiful area. The next time different material will be used and then the 70 km will be rocked!

Small round forest tour from Bad Freienwalde with Baasee and 7-hill path (template Frank Meyer komoot.de/tour/52637685). Mainly paths through dense mixed forest with only a few human encounters, mainly on the Baasee and near the spa park. Unfortunately, the Baasee has suffered from the drought of recent years, i.e. the water level has still dropped significantly. Overall, you can go on an excursion tour and have a good time, as it is very relaxing and there are few spectacular distractions.

Nice tour from Potsdam-Sanssouci over ruins mountain, Bornstedter field with various parks, from Fahrlander See to finally in the Döberitzer Heide. The tour was really fun in this combination because it was almost all "through the green". We were particularly pleased with the secluded section on the Fahrlander See with its wetlands and the wide view. You don't have to say much about the beauty of the Döberitzer Heide. The gorse has not yet fully blossomed everywhere. Unfortunately, various total clearings and extensive earthworks were carried out, so that the rarer birds have disappeared in some areas for the time being.
What was surprising, however, was a close encounter with a raccoon in Sanssouci Park, who didn't even look nervous. And of course we were really happy that the sky "threatened" repeatedly during the hike, but it only really started when we were already at the train station. After all, that's the way it should be!

In between gusts of wind and showers, but still: Golden oriole, cuckoo, redstart, pied flycatcher, Sindrossel, wood warbler, fitis, chiffchaff ... Always an experience.

I got the suggestion for this tour from Regina (komoot.de/tour/364091235). Thank you for sharing!
I only varied them a little because we didn't want to be dependent on the bus alone. It is really a really great hiking area, especially at this time of the year. I was really impressed by the variety. The pied flycatcher could be heard in all possible districts today. Other birds such as the oriole too, of course. In total we came to 10 lakes, whereby you can not swim in the moor lake, unless you are a tough survivalist.
However, next time we would rather hike on the west bank of the Hellsee, because unfortunately there was a lot of activity on our route due to the surrounding parking. The path was really great again north of Biesenthaler Straße, where you initially hike on rather beaten path, past the Krummen Fließ and beaver castles and then through beech forests. But also the Biesenthal basin as well as the route off the bike path south of Biesenthal, with recently hiking on the railway embankment, was simply a positive surprise.
And what else was going on ?: We got wet for a moment, of course, discovered a great moor lake with surrounding dry grassy areas, met a Komootler we knew on the way and was briefly touched by a thunderstorm. On our route we also got into the middle of a dung beetle photo event. All participants appeared very tense and, with their expensive technology, highly focused on the beetles. Apparently it's not a very relaxing hobby after all. And lastly we were able to observe a swallowtail on the embankment that fluttered around us for a long time. In short - a good recommendation for the route.

I admire everyone who went hiking yesterday! It was too wet for me yesterday.
You did a nice tour there yesterday. The photos look a bit rainy, but they still look nice!

Today a tour that has been planned for a little longer. Perleberg welcomes the visitor with loud crows from a rook colony. Nice to see for everyone who doesn't live next door. Then you get to a beautiful old town, for which you could take a lot of time. Unfortunately it is currently locked down and nothing is open. We strayed a bit because we were looking for a baker in the city center. There was something about the bakery on several houses; there is even a Bäckerstrasse, but apparently all of that was a long time ago. So it was apparently only net and we didn't want that. Maybe we were just too stupid while searching.
According to Wikipedia, the Stepenitz is probably one of the cleanest rivers in Germany, which is why salmon are also stocked there. You can apparently see them ascending on one of the bridges in Perleberg's old town in winter, if you are lucky, of course. Unfortunately, as a hiker, there are only a few places where you can get to the Stepenitz, and these sections are then not that interesting.
You don't have to say much about Wittenberge and the Elbe. Anyway, the tour leads south past Wittenberge, where you pass the imposing former Veritas factory with its large clock tower. From there you can get to the Elbe very quickly and follow the dike paths to Bälow. The panorama is impressive as in any large river landscape. You just have to be lucky with the weather, because it can be a challenge in both heat and cold wind. You could of course extend the tour to the stork village of Rühstädt.
However, we have chosen the direct route to Karthane, which at this time of the year is simply a dream thanks to the special light and the concert of birds in the adjacent wooded strips. There are also said to be rare fish in the upper reaches of the Karthane.
The tour ends in Bad Wilsnack, which can also be easily split up. Bad Wilsnack also has a lot to offer if you miss the hourly connection to Berlin. But we just caught him with a higher final pace and save e.g. the Wunderblutkirche for the next time.
About 80% of the hike on this tour is on firm ground and you also have to cope with a few road sections with little traffic, but overall the route is definitely worth a hiking recommendation.

Today a tour south of Neustadt along the Dosse with the end of the north bank of the Gülper See near Rhinow. I really liked the tour, as it leads at least along the Dosse to a large extent on natural paths on and next to the dike. Later there are tolerable slab paths. The Dosse itself as a river is not particularly exciting here; In the end, it even becomes less and less structured. However, it is a great experience to enjoy the landscape to the left and right, the animals, the flowers and above all the vastness. You almost have the path to yourself up to the L17. Only a few 100m you have to avoid roads with less traffic during the tour.
The north bank of the Gülper See hardly offers any spectacular insights either; for that you have to go to the south bank. However, at this time of year you can hear more than you can see, and the wide reed belts are just right for that. In addition to the sea eagle - of course, you can always pick it up here - we could hear the bittern as well as the swirls and the various reed warblers. Therefore, the north bank is particularly worthwhile in spring. In 1-2 months it will slowly become quieter in the reeds. In autumn and winter, on the other hand, the winter guests can be seen on Lake Gülper and you should definitely go to the tower on the south bank. Unfortunately, however, you cannot get over the Rhin at the Gahlberg barge lock. If you were to build a small footbridge there, you would have a complete circular route - a dream. But maybe it would also drive more car traffic into the area, a fatal intervention with major consequences. In general, we were unfortunately able to observe significant interventions in nature again today: At part of the Dosse, the dikes were treated with liquid manure up to the edge of the water (in my opinion this is actually prohibited).
Apart from that, the path is an absolute recommendation if you are not afraid of the kilometers. From Rhinow there is a very good bus connection every hour. If you run the tour the other way around, you could shorten the bus at least in Altgarz, Sieversdorf or Hohenofen if there are signs of weakness. However, that would mean missing some nice things ...

Today just a little tour after the vaccination. Caution would not have been necessary, however, as no restrictions were felt with regard to hiking. It went into a previously unknown territory, to Calau in Lower Lusatia. In terms of content, we oriented ourselves almost 1: 1 to Frank Meyer's hiking recommendation (komoot.de/tour/103007948). Overall, we really enjoyed the tour. Calau itself has a very beautiful old town center, which unfortunately cannot be viewed in peace due to the omnipresent car traffic. Behind Werchow, however, the tour will be really nice when it comes to Calau Switzerland. The landscape sometimes gives you the feeling of being in a forerunner of a low mountain range. In the forest, however, we were surprised by motocross riders on a small, secluded hiking trail. Unfortunately there is something like that there too. After Calau Switzerland there is a longer straight passage before you enter the beautiful Buchwäldchen-Muckwar pond landscape after the observation tower. Especially at this time of year, the red-bellied toads concert was a real experience. The first cuckoo could also be heard. Via Neudöbern with its crumbling castle you finally reach the impressive station Lost Place in Altdöbern, where the hike ends.
The next time I would maybe do the tour better in autumn, at the beginning I would do a bigger round in Altdöbern, also include the Skainte ponds in the hike and maybe keep Calau a little shorter. In any case, it is a very beautiful area that is really worth walking around!
