From above of the Tête des Faux dominated from its 1219 meters of villages Bonhomme, Lapoutroie and Orbey; it forms a strategic summit to cross the Vosges. Kahm Cemetery is laid out in terraces under forest cover and partly small by stone walls of local granite, but it has no physical limit on the upper part to allow for gradual expansion. This venue, in keeping with tradition, is set in beautiful grounds laid out in steps connected by steps that structure the cemetery. The dry stone walls are fitted with niches for lamps (Hindenburglichter) or religious statues of the Stations of the Cross.

The remains of the soldiers who were buried in the two German cemeteries at "Tete des Faux" (Buchenkopf) during the war were later reburied at the German war cemetery in Hohrod (near Lingekopf).
The French necropolis on the other side (Carrefour Duchesne) has remained a burial place.
