Today I went the last stage of the Seensteig - what a grand finale! The day started foggy and therefore cold and wet and led the first 5km on forest highways to Hutzenbacher See. Meanwhile, I was already thinking that the last stage will stay that way and is perhaps designed to allow hikers who walk the climb in one piece to relax a little. But luckily I was wrong! After the lake it went steeply uphill over a beautiful stony and rooted mountain path - from here I plunged into the (Baiersbronn) hiking heaven and the next 17km were simply the best Black Forest hiking on mostly rustic paths and narrow paths between spruce and lush, bright green Moss, which came into its own with the sunshine. The kilometers of hiking pleasure flew by and before I knew it I was back in Baiersbronn, where I completed the Seensteig 1.5 weeks ago with 2 days and at the beginning of this week 1 day with today.A very short conclusion: Do it! No matter what you've hiked, you won't regret it.I will publish the complete round as a collection in case someone wants to follow my variant.

Since the weather was again good for today at the end of last week, I spontaneously took a day off to continue the Seensteig - this time only as a single day's stage. The day started at the Seibelseckle and the ascent to the Hoenisgrinde over stony paths. Once at the top, it didn't go straight to the tower, but continued over the high moor to the Dreifürstenstein and then down a longer mountain path. After a while it went briefly on forest roads and then again on a high path with muddy paths. That was the last section with narrow paths and the rest of the way was relaxed on forest highways to the destination Schönmünzach for the day.All in all less spectacular than the 2 previous stages, but still a very nice, less strenuous tour with almost 1000m descent.

After a surprisingly restful night, the day started a bit fresh but at least with a hot coffee. I wanted to look for a nice spot for breakfast, which I found after about 5km - with the perfect view! There the breakfast porridge was served and enriched with a short chat with a Westweg hiker.Since there were so many great paths and trails yesterday, I actually expected fewer highlights today - but by no means! Today was just as amazing as yesterday. I appreciate an even higher proportion of trails and a lot of grind landscapes and wonderful views.I found a strengthening lunch in Ruhestein and then made the last kilometers mostly with the Hornisgrinde in view.Yesterday's and today's tour have my unreserved recommendation - every kilometer here is simply wonderful. As soon as the time and partly the weather allows (after / when it rains, some paths are almost inaccessible), I will still walk the rest of the lake trail.

Since the weather forecast for today was excellent, I spontaneously packed my backpack for 2 days of trekking and set off from Baiersbronn on the Seensteig. The stage is simply fantastic! More variety and Black Forest is hardly possible! Enormous proportion of paths that range from rooty to stony alpine. To relax and let your thoughts wander, for a change, gravel and forest paths - but mostly in great open nature and not as dark as you can sometimes find in the Black Forest.Since I want to be independent on the road, I decided on a refuge and set up camp there. As a reward there were also Maultaschen prepared in the mini cooker: D

Woke up early today and didn't turn around again - but laced up your shoes and walked around Ettlingen, which woke up in the morning. This is how the (work) day can start :)
