The St. Laurentiuskirche in Thurnau is connected to the castle by a wooden bridge. In this way, the lords of the castle were able to reach the two-story patron box inside the church dry-footed. Magnificent carvings, baroque stucco work and Pietist ceiling paintings testify to rule and belief.

Here, the castle and church are unusually connected. The wooden cloister leads directly from the former manor house to St. Laurentius Church – an architectural detail that you only truly notice when you stand under the bridge and look up. Inside the church, the Baroque stucco work and the colorful ceiling are particularly worthwhile.
