The beautiful spring-like weather wanted to be used 🌞
At the same time, additional kilometers could be collected for the outdoor crew's donation marathon.

And the donation marathon for WaldMachtMut is still running today. Simply follow the outside crew and mark them as a participant at the end of the tour. Every kilometer counts.

Today, on the day of the outdoor crew's donation marathon, I planned a longer route, which has also attracted me for a long time.
So it went from Herhahn in the direction of Gemünd, to get from there the Urft to Viktor-Neels-Brücke to the imposing Urftsee dam. From there, the path continued along the lake to Rurberg and from there to Einruhr, in order to come from the valley up to the Wollseifen desert on the other side of the Urftsee dam, with another wonderful view from above of the structure and the valleys . From there, Panzerstraße took me back to my starting point.

Today, Sunday, it took me to a somewhat smaller Eifel track. The starting point was a hiking car park near Dreiborn. Despite a relatively high proportion of asphalt, the route was pleasant to walk and, with its quiet valleys and beautiful views of the Eifel, had a lot to offer. Finally, I crossed Panzerstraße at the parking lot for a short but rewarding view.

The Eifel loop forest, water, meadows, expanses is a rather unspectacular circuit that still has its charm. I started the hike in Zingsheim near the Roman temple. From there it went on narrow paths through the forest towards Nettersheim, past the old monastery into the Urft valley. From there the route led increasingly over wide, partly paved, farm roads along the valley and up again towards Zingsheim. Shortly before the "Rummerschlegel" map marker, I misinterpreted the direction of the arrows and took the mountain bike route. So I made a little loop back from there to inspect the overgrown rocks in the forest.

Today's dog tour led me from Herhahn towards Dreiborn, but since I prefer forest and meadow paths, I soon deviated from the Panzerstraße, which was also available, to take more natural paths. Through a small cut into the valley, we continued over the Helingsbach to the red deer viewing gallery near Dreiborn (unfortunately no game viewing). From there it went on in the valley of the Helingsbach for a while towards Einruhr to climb back up along the Sauerbach towards Vogelsang.
From here I started the way back towards Herhahn, also deviating from the Panzerstraße, over forest and meadow paths past a grazing flock of sheep, which helps to maintain the low-growing habitat of the plateau.

Today Reifferscheid was the starting point of my hike again. From the parking lot with a view of the castle, I started the Eifel loop Sonnenglück. With the warmest day of this week, I have hit exactly the right time for this beautiful and varied tour. Since you mostly walk over open terrain, you can really soak up a lot of sun, but occasional patches of forest provide shade from time to time.
I started the loop backwards, so that as a highlight at the end I walked out of the valley to the castle complex, which I explored as a conclusion before I went past the "Gröttchen" back towards the parking lot.
I think the tour is highly recommended, and the castle complex is definitely worth seeing for those interested!

Today I was once again on the (Eifel) tracks of Martin and Sabine next to the track. After yesterday I was already enthusiastic about "As far as the eye can see", today the "Silver Treasure" lured me. Even if I couldn't find it, there were small wooden treasures to be discovered along the way, made by children's hands. And otherwise the tour was also worth seeing and varied. For me the highlight were the Roman remains of the Görresburg, which gave an insight into Roman-Eiflerische history.
