About EifelFranke

"Es gehört wohl zum Schönsten was es gibt, sich ein Land zu erwandern." (Erika Hubatschek)So lerne ich also meine Heimat Schritt um Schritt besser kennen. Und als gebürtiger Franke, wohnhaft in der Rureifel, kann ich gleich zwei schöne, naturnahe Landstriche meine Heimat nennen.

Today we went on the 5th and last stage of the dune trail, from Feucht back to Altdorf.

At the beginning the path leads to the Jägersee and actually left along the shore. But then I decided to take the "Dammweg" through the lake. Overall, the first section was rich in lakes, ponds and small bog areas

    1. The 4th stage took me from Brunn to Feucht.

During the first two kilometers I felt nauseous as the gravel roads dragged on.

But then I came to the Röthenbach.

On the soft forest floor we walked along the dreamlike stream that flowed in its sandy bed. Again and again you come across sandy "islands and beaches

    1. The 3rd stage of the dune trail went from Röthenbach an der Pegnitz to Brunn.

The big highlight of the tour for me was the Pegnitz, which in places was really jungle-like in its river bed.

Even if there were some wonderful paths and beautiful sections, it was quite monotonous in parts along gravel paths

    1. The second stage of the dune path also knows how to please. The dunes themselves give way to firmer sandstone, but there are still occasional sandy passages.

The route has a very high proportion of paths and alternates between quiet forest and great views, sometimes as far as Nuremberg.

    1. The dune path had been on my list for a long time and wanted to be walked.

So today it was finally time and I started the first stage from Altdorf near Nuremberg.

From the train station, walk along the tracks for a bit before entering the Lorenzer Reichswald. Many beautiful paths then lead through the

    1. Today I walked the König Otto loop with a slight variation. So I moved the starting point to the parking lot of the eponymous cave in order to omit the cul-de-sac from Unterwiesenacker to the Jurasteig. At the same time, I extended the tour for a detour to the large and small hollow hole and to visit

    1. Today we went to the valley of the Schwarzen Laber and the Jura loop there. The starting point was Eilsbrunn.

I didn't like the loop itself. The first part in particular went mainly over tar and wide forest roads, no trace of the Black Laber.

Only shortly before Alling does the little river come into view

    1. Without a specific goal, I started today rather by chance below the Kalvarienberg near Lauterhofen.

So I first looked for the way up to the summit to enjoy the view.

It was just a matter of following the nose. Quiet forest passages alternated with paths where you could let your gaze wander into the distance

    1. The Tennenloher Forest nature reserve was created on a former Wehrmacht and then US military training area.

Due to this use, there is a danger to life off the paths.

This allows nature to develop all the more freely and undisturbed, which has resulted in a great diversity of species.

    1. Tour 2/2 today I started from Pottenstein. Even the drive through the valleys of Franconian Switzerland is extremely attractive with all the rock towers and formations.

Pottenstein with the castle enthroned high on a rock is also an attractive destination.

Passing the Schöngrundsee, it goes to the Teufelsh
